Driver seriously injured during two-vehicle crash in Belmont

BELMONT — Police responded to a two-vehicle crash with serious injuries in Belmont yesterday.

The crash took place on Belmont Road, north of Frost Hill Road, at around 3:50 p.m.

Police identified one of the drivers as Angela Kautz, 44, of Mt Holly.

Kautz’s vehicle, a 2012 Ford Fusion, was located in the north lane of the road.

The other driver was identified as Keith Varga, 59, of Cavendish.

Police say that Kautz had crossed the center lane lines and hit Varga head-on.

Kautz sustained serious injuries as a result of the crash but was in stable condition and transported to the Rutland Regional Medical Center.

Troopers were assisted by Mt Holly Fire Department, Regional Ambulance Service, and Benny’s Towing.
