SHAFTSBURY — A 32-year-old man was involved in a single-vehicle crash in Shaftsbury this morning.

Authorities were notified of the crash that took place on Vermont Route 7A, near the intersection of Daniels Road, at around 9:10 a.m.

Police say a truck struck a power pole.

According to the report, Michael J. Brown, 32, of Shaftsbury, was traveling south on Vermont Route 7A prior to the crash.

Brown told police that another vehicle pulled out in front of him from the Paulins Gas Station parking lot, and he swerved to the right of the vehicle to avoid a rear-end collision.

When Brown served to the right, he crossed the white fog line, collided with the power pole, and caused damage to the truck.

Police say there was no collision between the vehicles, but the second vehicle left the scene.

The second driver is unknown at this time, but troopers would like to speak with the second driver about the incident.

Police say the second driver is being encouraged to call Trooper Ryan Criss.

Walt’s Towing Service assisted Vermont State Police.
