Putney man facing slew of charges

PUTNEY — A 29-year-old man is facing multiple charges following an incident in Putney yesterday.

Authorities were notified of a domestic disturbance at around 12:50 p.m.

Following an initial investigation, police say that Thomas J. Williams, of Putney, was a person of interest.

State police dispatch received another call stating that Williams came back to the home and was threatening other residents at around 4:00 p.m.

He then left the home and was located at the Sunoco in Dummerston.

Police say Williams was placed under arrest.

He was then transported to the Westminster barracks for processing.

While at the barracks, Williams provided false statements to law enforcement.

He was cited to appear in court on today to answer to the charges of 2nd degree aggravated domestic assault x2, aggravated assault, cruelty to a child, DLS, unlawful mischief, false information to law enforcement, disorderly conduct, resisting arrest, and criminal threatening.

State Police were assisted on-scene by the Windham County Sheriff’s Department and the Putney Fire Department.
