2 seriously injured in Highgate crash

HIGHGATE — Two people were seriously injured during a single-vehicle crash in Highgate on Friday.

The crash occurred on Route 78, by Morris Drive, at around 5:50 p.m.

According to the report, Dakota Williams, 26, of Enosburg, was traveling east on Route 78 when he veered off the road approximately 150 feet before hitting a large tree.

Williams was transported to Northwest Medical Center for injuries sustained during the crash.

He was later transported to the University of Vermont Medical Center where he is still in critical condition.

The passenger, Joshua Furlow, 25, of Winooski was transported to Northwest Medical Center for injuries.

Police say they are investigating the crash.

Anyone who may have witnessed the crash or have information is asked to call the Vermont State Police St. Albans barracks.
