Police: Fugitive nabbed in Berkshire

BERKSHIRE — A 40-year-old man from Canada was arrested in Berkshire on Thursday.

Authorities say they were notified of an individual who had attempted entry at the West Berkshire Port of Entry which was closed at 5:30 a.m.

The man was identified as Ted Hebert, of Quebec, Canada.

He was taken into custody by U.S. Customs and Border Patrol.

It was then found that Hebert had an extraditable warrant for his arrest out of Volusia County, Florida.

Troopers confirmed this information and Hebert was charged as a fugitive from justice.

Hebert was lodged at Northwest State Correctional Facility.
