Fatal crash in Sheldon

SHELDON — An 80-year-old woman has died following a crash that took place in Sheldon last month.

The two-vehicle crash near the intersection of Vermont Route 105 and Woods Hill Road took place on October 24.

According to the report, Mary Sylvester, 58, of Berkshire, was traveling east on VT RT 105 at around 45miles-per-hour.

Robbin Greene, 61, of Sheldon, was stopped at the intersection of VT RT 105 and Woods Hill Road waiting to make a left turn.

While Greene was waiting for oncoming traffic to pass, she were impacted in the rear by Sylvester.

Police say Sylvester ****attempted to avoid Greene but was unsuccessful.

Greene sustained minor injuries and was brought to Northwestern Medical Center.

Police say the passenger was identified as Joyce Weld, 80.

Yesterday, Weld, passed away due to the extent of the injuries sustained during the crash.
