Driver charged with DUI after crash in West Burke

WEST BURKE — A 21-year-old man from Newark was arrested following an incident in West Burke early this morning.

Authorities say they were notified of a vehicle off the road in the area of Newark Street at around 5:30 a.m.

At around 6:00 a.m. members of Lyndon Rescue notified police that they had located the vehicle driving in reverse on Newark Street.

Troopers located the vehicle off the road on Newark Street near Burke Line Farm.

The driver was identified as Noah Briggs.

While Troopers were speaking with Briggs they noticed signs of impairment.

He was arrested and transported to the St Johnsbury barracks where he was processed for suspicion of DUI.

He was released on citations for multiple charges in court to answer to the charges of criminal DLS, and DUI.
