Pedestrian hit, killed by vehicle on US Route 7 in Rutland

RUTLAND — A 42-year-old woman was killed during a crash in Rutland yesterday.

The incident took place on US Route 7 at around 8:30 p.m.

Chelsea Sikora, of Rutland, was crossing US Route 7 when she was hit by a vehicle in the southbound lane.

The driver was identified as Brett Senif, 48, of Rutland.

Police say they spoke with Senif at the scene and he displayed signs of impairment.

Sikora was pronounced deceased shortly after police arrived.

Senif was arrested and transported to the State police barracks in Rutland for DUI.

Currently, the crash is still under investigation.

Anyone who witnessed this incident should contact the Vermont State Police in Rutland.

State Police were assisted by Regional Ambulance, Rutland Town Fire Department, and Rutland Town Constable.
