Driver found unconscious in Morrisville arrested for DUI #3

MORRISVILLE — A 44-year-old man was arrested following an incident in Morrisville early this morning.

Police say they observed a vehicle parked in the middle of Vermont Route 100, at Joe’s Pond Road, at around 1:50 a.m.

The vehicle was running with the lights on and the sole occupant was found to be unconscious.

Police say the driver was eventually woken up and was identified as Douglas Stokowski, of Morrisville.

While speaking with Stokowski, police say they observed several indicators of impairment.

He was arrested for suspicion of DUI and transported to the Lamoille County Sheriff’s Office for processing.

Police say that Stokowski was also operating a vehicle with a criminally suspended license and was violating three sets of court-ordered conditions of release.

As per the order of the court, he was released on conditions and flash cited to appear in court on August 8 and was ordered held until sober.
