JERICHO — A 28-year-old man from Essex was arrested in Jericho back in June, police say.

On June 23, authorities were notified of a check fraud incident that occurred on Browns Trace Road, between the dates of May 28 and June 1.

Police allege that Michael Immich, had stolen personal checks from the residence of Brian Calhoun, 66, of Jericho, along with a misdemeanor amount of cash.

Immich then wrote out checks to himself, forging the owner’s signatures, and successfully cashed three checks on three separate days at a local credit union, depriving Calhoun of over $1,000.

Immich was taken into custody yesterday and transported to the Williston barracks for processing.

He was released with a citation to appear in court on September 20 to answer the charges of petit larceny from a residence, forgery and counterfeiting, and false pretenses.
