WOODFORD — A 17-year-old was involved in a single-vehicle crash in Woodford yesterday.

Authorities say they were notified of a motorcycle crash on Vermont Route 9 at around 5:25 p.m.

Police say that the driver of a motorcycle was traveling west on Route 9 and entering an active work area.

Traffic was stopped due to one lane being shut down for utility work.

Police say the driver came over a crest in the road and observed traffic stopped in the westbound lane.

He tried to stop quickly which resulted in his rear tire skidding and the motorcycle falling onto its side and ejecting the operator.

He was later transported to Southwestern Vermont Medical Center for non-life threatening injuries.

State Police were assisted on the scene by the Bennington Rescue Squad.
