Bus crashes on I-89 in Bethel, driver charged with DUI

BETHEL — A 36-year-old man from Waitsfield was arrested following an incident on I-89 in Bethel early this morning.

Police were notified that a white passenger bus was operating erratically traveling south at around 2:35 p.m.

The bus made an illegal u-turn before police arrived.

The bus then struck a guardrail and continued traveling north.

Police stopped the vehicle and identified the driver as Tyler Brownlee.

Following an investigation, Brownlee was taken into custody for suspicion of DUI.

He was taken to the Royalton barracks for processing and released on a citation to appear in court on July 19.
