Man arrested for pointing gun at Williamstown man

WILLIAMSTOWN — A 21-year-old man from Barre City was arrested following an incident in Williamstown yesterday.

Authorities say they were notified of an altercation involving a firearm at a home on South Hill Road at around 12:30 p.m.

Police say they arrived on the scene and met with the victim and other witnesses.

Police allege that Righley Jones had pointed a firearm at Ronald Butler, 58, of Williamstown.

Jones was located at an address in Barre City shortly afterward.

Police took Jones into custody without incident for the charges of aggravated assault, reckless endangerment, violation of conditions of release, aggravated disorderly conduct, false information to a police officer, and criminal threatening.

He was transported to the Berlin State Police barracks for processing and lodged on bail.

Troopers were assisted on the scene by officers from the Barre City Police Department.
