GRANITEVILLE — A man and a woman were arrested following an incident in Graniteville on Friday.

Authorities say they were notified of a suspicious vehicle parked in the Barre Town Forest parking lot off of Barclay Quarry Road at around 12:55 p.m.

The occupants were identified as Christina Chatlos, 36, of White River Junction, and Rex Comstock, 42, of Barre Town.

Police say they observed paraphernalia associated with the use of crack cocaine.

Chatlos is alleged to have attempted to destroy crack cocaine in the presence of troopers and was taken into custody.

A search of the vehicle yielded crack cocaine belonging to Chatlos and Comstock.

Police say they discovered Chatlos to have 4 active sets of court-ordered conditions of release which prohibited her from using illicit drugs.

Chatlos were both taken into custody and transported to the Berlin barracks for processing for the charges of impeding public officers, possession of cocaine, and violation of conditions of release.

Comstock was arrested for possession of cocaine.

Both parties were processed, issued citations to appear in court, and released.
