Motorcyclist charged with excessive speeding in Johnson

JOHNSON — A 51-year-old man was cited for excessive speeding following an incident in Johnson today.

Police say they observed a Yamaha motorcycle traveling west on Route 15 near Willow Crossing, at a high rate of speed at around 9:15 a.m.

Radar confirmed the motorcycle was traveling 81 miles-per-hour in a 50 miles-per-hour zone.

Police say they pulled over the motorcycle and identified the driver as Jason Brunault, of Johnson.

Brunault was released with a citation ordering him to appear in court on August 10.

He was also issued a Vermont Civil Violation Complaint which carries a penalty of $475 and two points on his driver’s license.
