Panton man charged following burglary, assault in New Haven

NEW HAVEN — A 37-year-old man from Panton was arrested following an incident in New Haven on Saturday.

Authorities say they were notified of a citizen dispute on Field Days Road at around 1:10 p.m.

Police allege that Provencher then assaulted the owner of the home and caused him serious bodily injury.

Provencher then caused damage to the homeowner’s property.

He fled the scene in his vehicle and was located by troopers on Vermont Route 17.

Provencher was taken into custody without incident and transported to the Vermont State Police New Haven barracks for processing.

He was issued a citation to appear in court tomorrow for the charges of burglary, first-degree aggravated domestic assault, aggravated assault, unlawful mischief, and disorderly conduct.

He was lodged at Northwest State Correctional Facility for lack of a $5,000 bail.
