Ambulance responding to crash on I-91 in Lyndon hit by truck

LYNDON — An ambulance responding to a single-vehicle crash in Lyndon early this morning was hit by a tractor-trailer.

The crash took place in the median on I-91 at around 1:20 a.m.

According to the report, a Lyndon Rescue ambulance driven by Delbert Reed, 74, of East Haven, was struck by a truck being driven by Todd Rivers, 50, of Sheffield.

Police say Reed was trying to enter the U-turn near the initial single-vehicle crash while responding.

There were no injuries sustained by the ambulance crew or the truck driver.

All vehicles were removed from the scene by multiple wrecker companies.

Members from the Lyndonville Fire Department, Vermont DMV Enforcement, as well as Lyndon Rescue, all responded to the crash.

Police are still investigating the crash.
