Drunk driver gets stuck in mud driving on someone’s lawn in Grand Isle

GRAND ISLE — A 49-year-old man was arrested following an incident in Grand Isle early this morning.

Authorities say they were notified of a vehicle on the lawn of a home on Landing Lane at around 5:20 a.m.

According to the report, the driver, identified as Keith Cannon, of Grand Isle, was intoxicated.

The vehicle was stuck in deep mud in the victim’s yard, and there was significant damage done to the lawn.

Cannon was no longer on-scene but was located a short distance away at another home.

He was arrested for suspicion of DUI#2 and leaving the scene of an accident and transported to the St. Albans barracks for processing.

Cannon was issued a criminal citation and transferred to the custody of Northwest State Correctional Center for detox.
