Swanton fire considered suspicious

SWANTON — A fire broke out in Swanton early yesterday morning.

The Swanton Fire Department was notified of the fire at 144 Hog Island Road at around 2:00 a.m.

A camper trailer was fully engulfed in flames at the scene.

The camper was unoccupied, and no injuries were reported.

Investigators responded to Swanton and conducted a scene examination.

The cause of the fire is under investigation but is believed to be the result of direct human involvement and the circumstances surrounding the fire are considered suspicious.

The camper trailer sustained extensive damage from fire, heat, and smoke.

The owner is listed as Roy Bockus.
