WOODFORD — A 24-year-old man from New Jersey was involved in a single-vehicle crash with injuries in Woodford early this morning.
The crash took place on Vermont Route 9, near Notch Road, at around 4:50 a.m.
The vehicle was located down the embankment, making contact with a tree.
According to the report, Thomas W. Decker, of Franklin, New Jersey, was traveling west before he lost control of his vehicle.
Police say road conditions were a contributing factor to the crash based on the fact there was thin snow cover and the road was slick due to low weather temperatures.
Decker suffered a major facial laceration requiring quick transport to Southern Vermont Medical Center for further evaluation.
Troopers were assisted by the Bennington Police Department, Bennington Rescue Squad, and Leblanc’s Towing Service.
