Driver charged with DUI after two-vehicle crash in Waitsfield

WAITSFIELD — A 51-year-old man was arrested following a crash in Waitsfield on Friday.

The two-vehicle crash took place in the area of Main Street and Radcliffe Drive at around 8:40 p.m.

Police say that a vehicle driven by Mark Vanliere, of Waitsfield, crossed the center line into oncoming traffic, and collided with a vehicle driven by Cassidy Berry, of Waterbury.

While speaking to Vanliere, police say they observed several indicators of impairment.

Vanliere was arrested for suspicion of DUI and negligent operation.

He was transported to the Middlesex State Police barracks for processing.

He was released with a citation to appear in court on March 10.
