DUI charges after driver found slumped over steering wheel in Shrewsbury

SHREWSBURY — A 44-year-old woman from Mt. Holly was arrested for DUI following an incident in Shrewsbury on Wednesday.

Authorities were notified of a vehicle that had stopped in the travel lane on Lincoln Hill Road, near Route 103, at around 11:00 p.m.

Police say they responded and found the driver, identified as Heather Deem, slumped over the steering wheel.

After speaking with Deem, police say signs of impairment were detected.

She was arrested for suspicion of DUI drugs.

Deem was transported to the Rutland barracks where she was processed and released on a criminal citation to answer to the charge on March 28.
