Driver injured after head-on collision in Cavendish

CAVENDISH — Police responded to a head-on collision with injuries in Cavendish yesterday.

The crash took place on Route 103 at around 9:00 a.m.

One of the drivers was entrapped in his vehicle and injured, police say.

According to the report, a vehicle driven by Wade Vivian, 30, of White River Junction, was headed northbound on Route 103 when he crossed over the centerline and struck a vehicle driven by Paul Thompson, 55, of Bomoseen, head-on.

Vivian’s vehicle came to a position of rest in the northbound lane of travel.

Thompson’s vehicle came to a position of rest approximately 50 yards south from point of impact partially off the shoulder of the northbound lane.

Vivian was extracted from his vehicle and transported to Springfield Hospital and later to DHMC.

Thompson reported no injuries.

Route 103 was closed for about one hour after the crash.
