MONTPELIER — Police say an arrest warrant has been issued following a two-vehicle crash that took place in Montpelier last year.

The incident took place on Main Street on November 27, 2021.

According to the report, one vehicle had hit the other vehicle, then departed the area without stopping.

Police say the suspect vehicle was located parked, unoccupied on State Street soon after with corresponding damage.

The registered owner of the vehicle was later located at an area hotel as a result of a separate incident where they were intoxicated and in crisis.

Washington County Mental Health was contacted and they were transported to the hospital for mental health evaluation and admitted.

Following an investigation, police say the 26-year-old woman was from South Burlington and had committed the crime of leaving the scene of an accident.

Police say she could not be located and their contact with her indicated she would not return to Vermont to receive a citation into court.

Police say a warrant was issued for her arrest, but have not released her name at this time.
