CHARLOTTE — A 55-year-old woman from South Carolina was arrested for DUI following a crash in Charlotte yesterday.
The single-vehicle crash took place near the intersection of U.S. Route 7 and Church Hill Road at around 12:45 p.m.
Police identified the driver as Kelly A. Cromer, of Greenville, SC.
According to the report, Cromer was headed south on U.S. Route 7 and swerving into the northbound lane towards oncoming traffic.
Police say the vehicle subsequently left the road and came to a position of rest in a ditch located off the northbound portion of U.S. Route 7.
While speaking with Cromer, police say they detected signs of impairment.
She was screened at the scene and placed under arrest for suspicion of DUI.
