Man cited for killing a piglet in Cavendish

CAVENDISH — A 73-year-old man from Cavendish is facing a charge of animal cruelty following an incident last week.

Authorities say they were alerted that a pet piglet was shot and killed by a neighbor on Main Street.

Following an investigation, with the assistance of the Vermont Game Wardens, it was found that the piglet was shot and killed with a pellet gun.

Today, police identified the neighbor as Bruce Borders, of Cavendish.

He was issued a criminal citation to appear in court on February 22.
