WALDEN — A 22-year-old man from Hardwick was arrested following an incident in Walden on Monday.

Authorities say they were returning from the St. Johnsbury Correctional Facility when they observed a truck that was pulled to the side of the road at around 1:10 a.m.

Police say the truck had been seen parked there approximately one hour earlier.

Deputies conducted a welfare check on the driver.

The driver, identified as Hunter Patten, was found to be in possession of suspected heroin.

He was then taken into custody and transported back to the Lamoille County Sheriff’s Department for processing.

Patten’s truck was seized as evidence and towed from the scene.

Lamoille County Deputies applied for and were granted a search warrant to search the vehicle.

As a result of that search, Cash and approximately 100 bags of suspected heroin were seized.

Patten was charged and issued a citation to appear in court on January 3 to answer the charge of possession of heroin.
