Driver injured during single-vehicle crash in Cabot

CABOT — A 41-year-old man from California was injured during a single-vehicle crash in Cabot yesterday.

The crash took place on US Route2, near the Marshfield Dam at around 4:05 p.m.

According to the report, the driver, Franklin Jackson, of Sacramento, CA, was headed west when he observed a vehicle travelling east enter his lane. 

Police say Jackson went off the shoulder of the road in order to avoid a collision with the oncoming vehicle. 

He then lost control of the vehicle which turned onto the passenger side and slid along the road until coming to rest against a power pole. 

Jackson was transported to Central Vermont Medical Center for evaluation of suspected minor injuries.
