WATERBURY, VT — A three-vehicle crash on Vermont Route 100 caused significant traffic delays March 20, 2026.
The crash occurred at approximately 1:41 p.m. near Gregg Hill Road during snowy conditions with slush and ice-covered roads.
Carly Messick, 22, of Lancaster, Pennsylvania, was driving north on Route 100 in a 2018 Honda CRV when she lost control of her vehicle due to winter conditions, according to Vermont State Police.
Messick’s vehicle crossed the center line and collided with a 2024 Jeep Wagoneer driven by Amy Lacey, 50, of Bealeton, Virginia, who was traveling south.
A 2021 Ram 1500 driven by Christopher Tomaino, 44, of East Setauket, New York, was following behind Lacey and struck the rear of her vehicle.
Lacey sustained a minor wrist injury and was transported to Central Vermont Medical Center.
Messick and Tomaino were not injured.
All three operators were wearing seat belts.
Both the Honda and Jeep were totaled and removed from the scene by Bee There Towing.
The Ram sustained minor damage and was driven from the scene.
Waterbury Fire Department and Waterbury Ambulance assisted troopers from the Vermont State Police Berlin Barracks at the scene.
