WELLS, VT — A 21-year-old man faces a domestic assault charge following an investigation into incidents that occurred in two Vermont towns in February.
William Makepeace, of Wells, was issued a citation on March 20 to appear in Rutland Criminal Court on March 23.
Vermont State Police Bureau of Criminal Investigation assisted with an investigation that began Feb. 21 with a report of a citizen dispute in Wells, followed by an allegation of domestic assault a few hours later in Fairhaven.
Makepeace was charged with domestic assault by Fairhaven Police Department on Feb. 22.
During subsequent follow-up by Vermont State Police BCI, investigators determined that Makepeace recklessly caused injury to an adult female with whom he was previously in a dating relationship while in Wells a few hours before the incident that resulted in his arrest by Fairhaven police.
