ALTOONA, PA — A traffic stop for driving the wrong way led to the seizure of more than three pounds of cocaine and the arrest of an Ohio man.
The Altoona Police Department conducted a traffic stop in the area of 17th Street and 7th Avenue on Feb. 24, 2026, after observing a vehicle traveling the wrong direction on 7th Avenue.
The operator was identified as Tyrone Anderson Hall, 47, of Steubenville, Ohio.
Hall was determined to be under the influence and was taken into custody.
During the stop, officers requested the assistance of a K-9 unit.
K-9 “Pongo” arrived on scene and conducted an open-air sniff of the vehicle, resulting in a positive alert for the presence of narcotics.
Officers subsequently obtained and executed a search warrant for the vehicle.
During the search, officers recovered approximately 3.5 pounds of cocaine, 7 grams of marijuana, and a small amount of cash.
Hall was charged with Possession with Intent to Deliver, Driving Under the Influence, and related offenses.
He was arraigned, denied bail, and committed to the Blair County Prison to await further court proceedings.
