STOCKPORT, NY — A Hudson man died Wednesday night after his vehicle left the roadway and struck a tree on State Route 9.
New York State Police in Livingston were dispatched by Columbia County 911 at approximately 10:03 p.m. to a reported one-vehicle rollover crash in the area of 829 State Route 9 in the town of Stockport.
A preliminary investigation by the Bureau of Criminal Investigation in Livingston determined that a 2002 Ford, operated by Mohammad M. Alamin, 26, of Hudson, was traveling southbound on State Route 9 when it left the roadway.
The vehicle struck the western guide rail, crossed the northbound lane, and collided with a tree, causing the vehicle to overturn.
Alamin, the sole occupant, was pronounced deceased at the scene.
