RICHMONDVILLE, NY — A Charleston man was arrested on a warrant following a January vehicle pursuit and investigation, according to the Schoharie County Sheriff’s Office.

Chad A. Chichester, 42, of Charleston, was arrested March 18 on charges stemming from a Jan. 19 incident.

Deputies attempted to stop Chichester’s vehicle after observing it driving on the wrong side of the road as it proceeded through a four-way stop intersection, nearly striking other motorists, according to the sheriff’s office.

The vehicle operator continued driving recklessly and in excess of the speed limit instead of pulling over, according to the release.

The deputy terminated the pursuit quickly.

An investigation identified Chichester as the vehicle operator, and a warrant was issued out of Richmondville Town Court.

Chichester was charged with reckless driving, unlawful fleeing a police officer in a motor vehicle in the third degree and aggravated unlicensed operation in the third degree, all misdemeanors.

He was arraigned before Schoharie County CAP Court and released to appear before Richmondville Town Court at a later date.
