STRAFFORD, VT — Vermont State Police arrested a local man on a driving under the influence charge after he was found passed out behind the wheel of a vehicle.
Troopers from the Royalton Barracks responded to VT Route 132 at approximately 2:05 p.m. March 19, 2026, for a report of a male passed out behind the wheel.
During the investigation, troopers detected signs of impairment from the operator, who was identified as Eric Thorp, 34, of Strafford.
Thorp was placed under arrest and transported to the Vermont State Police Royalton Barracks for processing.
He was later released with a criminal citation to appear in Orange County Criminal Court on April 8, 2026, for driving under the influence.
