Staten Island man charged with receiving stolen property in Springfield

SPRINGFIELD, NJ — A Staten Island man faces charges after police say they found multiple stolen debit cards in his possession.

The 45-year-old man was charged with two counts of receiving stolen property on March 3, 2026, according to the Springfield Police Department.

The charges resulted from a Detective Bureau investigation into multiple debit cards found during a previous arrest, police said.

In other incidents, a 23-year-old Irvington man was arrested March 4 and charged with theft of movable property and trespassing following an investigation into a theft from a Morris Avenue fitness club.

Also on March 4, a 21-year-old Springfield man was arrested and charged with unlawful possession of a handgun during a motor vehicle stop on Route 22.

On March 6, a 45-year-old East Orange woman was charged with simple assault following a Detective Bureau investigation of an assault reported at a Mountain Avenue fitness club.

On March 12, officers responded to a Route 22 music store on a report of possible shoplifting in progress.

A 42-year-old Bristol, PA man was arrested and charged with possession of burglary tools following an on-scene investigation.
