ENFIELD, CT — Police are investigating after a 12-year-old girl was found dead at a residence Thursday morning.
Enfield Police Department, Emergency Medical Service and Fire Department personnel were dispatched to 176 Elm St. at 10:25 a.m. in response to a 911 call reporting an unresponsive female.
Upon arrival, department personnel confirmed the girl had died.
The Chief Medical Examiner’s Office responded to the scene.
A cause of death was not immediately apparent.
Enfield police secured a search warrant to permit a full review of the scene.
Police personnel, with assistance from the Connecticut State Police Central District Major Crime Squad, remained at the location Thursday evening.
Police said there is no known public safety concern or immediate danger to the public.
