FALL RIVER, MA — Police responded to the Quequechan River Rail Trail on the morning of March 18, 2026, following a report of a male in the water.
Upon arrival, officers located an unresponsive male face down near the shoreline.
Officers immediately entered the water, brought the individual to shore, and initiated life-saving measures.
Emergency Medical Services responded shortly thereafter and, despite these efforts, the individual was pronounced deceased at the scene.
Detectives from the Major Crimes Division, along with detectives of the Crime Scene Unit, responded to continue the investigation.
At this time, there is no indication of foul play.
The identity of the individual is being confirmed and will be withheld pending proper notification of next of kin.
