LATHAM, NY — State Police arrested a Troy man on a warrant stemming from a December pursuit involving a stolen vehicle.
Miguel A. Rodriguez, 37, of Troy, was arrested March 17 on charges of criminal possession of stolen property in the third degree, a class D felony, and unlawfully fleeing a police officer in a motor vehicle in the third degree, a class A misdemeanor, along with numerous vehicle and traffic law violations.
On Dec. 6 at about 10:27 a.m., troopers assigned to the Latham Interstate Patrol joined a pursuit initiated by the Rensselaer County Sheriff’s Office.
The vehicle, which had been reported stolen from Troy on Dec. 5, continued on Interstate 87 southbound in Colonie and then exited onto Central Avenue into the city of Albany, where the pursuit was terminated.
The vehicle was later located and seized with the assistance of the Albany Police Department on Kent Street.
The investigation determined that Rodriguez was allegedly operating the stolen vehicle during the pursuit.
Rodriguez was produced from the Albany County Correctional Facility, where he was being held on unrelated charges.
He was transported to State Police Latham for processing, then arraigned at Albany City Court, where he was remanded back to the Albany County Correctional Facility.
