Man arrested on DWI charges in Queensbury

QUEENSBURY, NY — State Police arrested a man on impaired driving charges March 6 while investigating a disturbance on Haviland Avenue.

Benjamin R. Schloemer, 33, of Saratoga Springs, was observed operating a vehicle at about 8:44 p.m.

A child under the age of 16 was located in the vehicle and turned over to a family member.

Schloemer was arrested for Aggravated Driving While Intoxicated with a Child, Endangering the Welfare of a Child and other vehicle and traffic law violations.

He was transported to State Police Queensbury for processing where he recorded a 0.09% BAC.

Investigation discovered Schloemer has had a previous DWI conviction in the last ten years.

Schloemer was issued an appearance ticket returnable to Queensbury Town Court on March 16.

STEPHENTOWN, NY — State Police arrested a man on impaired driving charges March 6 after responding to a report of a vehicle off the roadway.

Troopers from the Sand Lake barracks responded to State Route 43 at about 9:38 p.m.

The uninjured driver was identified as Glenn J. Snyder, 73, of Averill Park.

Snyder was arrested for Driving While Intoxicated and other vehicle and traffic law violations.

He was transported to State Police Brunswick for processing where he recorded a 0.21% BAC.

Snyder was issued tickets returnable to Stephentown Town Court on March 25 and released to a sober third party.

WARRENSBURG, NY — State Police arrested a man on impaired driving charges March 7 after stopping a vehicle on Catherine Street.

Troopers from the Chestertown barracks stopped the vehicle at about 1:10 a.m. for a vehicle and traffic law violation.

The driver was identified as Kevin Mitchell, 38, of Camden.

Mitchell was arrested for Driving While Intoxicated and other vehicle and traffic law violations.

Prior to being processed Mitchell had a medical event and was transported to Glens Falls Hospital for evaluation where a blood sample was taken to determine the alcohol content of his blood.

Investigation discovered Mitchell has had a previous DWI conviction in the last ten years.

Mitchell was issued an appearance ticket returnable to Warrensburg Town Court on March 18 and released to hospital staff.

Woman arrested on drug-impaired driving charge in Malta

MALTA, NY — State Police arrested a woman on impaired driving charges March 10 after responding to a report of an erratic vehicle.

Troopers from the Saratoga barracks responded to the area of Cherry Choke Road at about 5:17 p.m.

Troopers patrolled the area and located a vehicle matching the caller’s description in the area of State Route 9.

The driver was identified as Viola M. Knapp Colmenero, 55, of Clifton Park.

Knapp Colmenero was arrested for Driving While Ability Impaired by Drugs and transported to State Police Saratoga for processing where she refused to be evaluated by a Drug Recognition Expert.

A sample was collected to determine the drug content of her blood.

Investigation discovered Knapp Colmenero has had a previous DWI conviction in the last ten years.

Knapp Colmenero was issued an appearance ticket returnable to Malta Town Court on March 12 and released.
