PROVIDENCE, RI — Members of the Rhode Island Violent Fugitive Task Force, the Newport Police Department and other law enforcement agencies arrested six people on various warrants and drug charges between March 12 and March 16, authorities said.
In Newport on March 12, members of the Rhode Island Violent Fugitive Task Force and the Newport Police Department arrested Adrian E. Jones, 43, of Newport, on an affidavit and arrest warrant from the Middletown Police Department charging him with violation of a no-contact order, a felony.
Jones was taken into custody without incident and turned over to members of the Middletown Police Department at the scene, authorities said.
Also on March 12, members of the Rhode Island Violent Fugitive Task Force arrested Michael Riveria, 20, of West Warwick, on an affidavit and arrest warrant from the Providence Police Department.
Riveria was charged with domestic felony assault, domestic failure to relinquish a telephone, and domestic disorderly conduct, authorities said.
The arrest resulted from an investigation by the Violent Fugitive Task Force.
Riveria was taken into custody without incident and transported to the Providence Police Department, authorities said.
On March 13, members of the HIDTA Task Force arrested Clarimar Ramos, 39, of Providence, on charges of possession with intent to deliver a Schedule II controlled substance, fentanyl, and possession with intent to deliver a Schedule II controlled substance, crack cocaine.
Ramos was transported to the Lincoln Barracks, where she was processed, and then to Sixth District Court for arraignment, authorities said.
Also on March 13, members of the Rhode Island Violent Fugitive Task Force arrested Joshua Lessard, 45, of Warwick, on an affidavit and arrest warrant from the Warwick Police Department charging him with failure to register as a sex offender.
Lessard was taken into custody without incident and transported to the Warwick Police Department, authorities said.
On March 16, members of the Rhode Island Violent Fugitive Task Force and the Little Compton Police Department arrested Luther Parente, 42, of Little Compton, on an affidavit and arrest warrant from the Little Compton Police Department charging him with burglary.
Parente also was wanted on a Superior Court bench warrant for failure to appear for determination of attorney on an original charge of breaking and entering out of the Tiverton Police Department, a Superior Court bench warrant for failure to appear for violation hearing on an original charge of assault with a dangerous weapon out of the Little Compton Police Department, and a Superior Court bench warrant for failure to appear for determination of attorney on an original charge of second-degree robbery out of the Providence Police Department, authorities said.
Parente was taken into custody without incident and turned over to members of the Little Compton Police Department at the scene, authorities said.
Also on March 16, members of the Rhode Island Violent Fugitive Task Force arrested Nicholas Dubois, 34, of Cranston, on a Rhode Island Parole Board warrant for violation of parole on an original charge of possession of a controlled substance.
Dubois was taken into custody without incident and turned over to officials at the Adult Correctional Institutions, authorities said.
