Man arrested on child exploitation charges in Wallkill

WALLKILL, NY — A 53-year-old man faces felony charges related to the promotion and possession of sexually obscene material involving children.

Robert A. Cordani, of Wallkill, was arrested March 6, 2026, by the New York State Police Troop F Computer Crimes Unit.

Cordani is charged with promote an obscure sexual performance by a child less than 17 years of age, a class D felony, and possessing sexual performance by a child less than 16 years old, possess/access to view, a class E felony.

He is accused of promoting and possessing images consistent with child sexual exploitation.

The investigation began following a cybertip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children, which led to the execution of a search warrant at Cordani’s residence in Wallkill in January.

The arrest is the result of a joint investigation conducted by the New York State Police Troop F Computer Crimes Unit, in collaboration with the Troop F Bureau of Criminal Investigation at Highland, Violent Gang Narcotics Enforcement, Community Stabilization Unit and the Ulster County Domestic Violence Unit.

Cordani was arraigned in the Ulster County Court Central Arraignment Part and remanded to Ulster County Jail with bail set at $8,000 cash, $10,000 secured bond, or $50,000 partially secured bond.

He was scheduled to appear in the Town of Plattekill Court on April 10, 2026, at 10 a.m.
