BEEKMANTOWN, NY — New York State Police charged Craig P. Dumas, 39, of West Chazy, with menacing 2nd degree, criminal possession of a weapon 3rd degree (previous conviction), and criminal tampering 3rd degree on March 13, 2026.
Troopers responded to Ashley Road in the town of Beekmantown at approximately 5:06 a.m. for a report of a physical domestic dispute.
An investigation determined that a verbal argument began between Dumas and the victim, which escalated into a physical altercation when Dumas began striking the victim and holding the victim down on a bed.
The victim was able to leave the residence; however, Dumas continued contacting the victim via telephone.
Dumas later arrived at the residence where the victim had gone, while in possession of a firearm, and began making verbal threats.
Troopers subsequently located Dumas and transported him to SP Plattsburgh for processing.
He was arraigned in the Town of Beekmantown Court and released on his own recognizance.
