MAMARONECK, NY — A New York State Police trooper suffered minor injuries after being struck by vehicles during a traffic stop on the Thruway early Sunday morning.
Two troopers were conducting a traffic stop on a 2025 Mercedes sedan operated by Siiyer W. Walker, 52, of Connecticut, along the right shoulder of the Thruway shortly after 5 a.m. on March 15, 2026.
While the troopers were standing near the Mercedes, a 2007 Chevrolet Suburban operated by Kevin Ariel Cunache Moyolema, 24, of Connecticut, rear-ended the patrol car.
The patrol car was pushed into the Mercedes, which then struck one of the troopers.
The injured trooper was transported to Westchester Medical Center for minor injuries and later released.
The other trooper was not struck.
Moyolema was transported to Westchester Medical Center for evaluation of minor body pain.
Walker was evaluated by EMS on scene and declined transport.
