Motorcyclist killed in Pleasant Valley crash

PLEASANT VALLEY, NY — A motorcyclist died after a head-on collision on Salt Point Turnpike on March 14, 2026.

New York State Police at Poughkeepsie responded to the crash at approximately 2:45 p.m. in the area of Salt Point Turnpike and Van Wagner Road.

A preliminary investigation conducted by the Bureau of Criminal Investigation at Poughkeepsie and Troop K’s Collision Reconstruction Unit revealed that a 2025 Can-Am Spyder motorcycle, operated by William G. Coulston, 59, of Millbrook, was traveling westbound on Salt Point Turnpike when it crossed the double yellow center line and struck a Mercedes-Benz head-on.

The occupants of the Mercedes were not injured.

Coulston succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased at Mid-Hudson Regional Hospital.

The investigation remains ongoing.
