OSWEGO, NY — The Oswego Police Department and Oswego Fire Department were dispatched to a report of a vehicle into the Oswego River at the end of West Seneca Street at approximately 1:52 a.m. on March 15, 2026.
Upon arrival, the vehicle was not visible in the water.
Units located a section of fencing that was broken out along with tire tracks and plastic molding.
A search was commenced utilizing the Oswego Fire Department Marine Unit, U.S. Coast Guard, and drones.
At this point the vehicle has not been located.
Grid searches utilizing side scan sonar will continue until the vehicle is located.
Search efforts are hampered by the dangerous fast-moving current from the recent snow melt.
Investigators are currently reviewing nearby security video of the incident.
There are no current missing person reports.
