OSWEGO, NY — Police have recovered a body from the Oswego River believed to be the operator of a vehicle that went into the water.
A member of the Oswego Police Department conducting an aerial drone search located the body in the water close to the west bank, just north of W. Schuyler Street at approximately 11:30 a.m.
New York State Police, who had joined the search, had a boat nearby and were directed to the body.
They were able to recover the individual.
The identity of the individual is not being released so that next of kin can be notified.
The vehicle has been located at an approximate depth of 40 feet.
Recovery efforts are continuing.
