WATERBURY, VT — A single-vehicle rollover crash ejected the driver on Interstate 89 northbound on March 14, 2026.
Vermont State Police, Waterbury Ambulance and Waterbury Fire responded to the crash at mile marker 61 at 6:16 p.m.
The operator, Puja Lad, 21, of Plattsburgh, New York, was ejected from the 2021 Hyundai Tucson.
Bystanders were rendering aid to Lad when emergency responders arrived.
Lad was not wearing a seat belt and sustained suspected minor injuries.
She was transported to Central Vermont Medical Center for treatment.
Investigation revealed Lad lost control of the vehicle on slush, causing it to strike rock ledges and overturn.
The vehicle sustained damage to the front end and driver’s side.
Road conditions at the time were snow and slush, with snow falling.
