BATH, NY — A Bath man was arrested early March 8 after allegedly violating an order of protection and stealing property from a woman during a domestic incident.
An officer with the Village of Bath Police Department was on patrol in the area of West Morris Street at approximately 12:03 a.m. when they were waved down by a female victim.
The woman reported she had just been in a physical domestic incident and that the male suspect stole some of her property.
Officers were aware that a full stay away order of protection was in place protecting the woman from the man.
The suspect was reported to be actively fleeing the scene and was last seen near the Doorman Library on West Morris Street.
Officers identified the suspect as Dylan M. Henry, 34, of Bath.
After searching the area for Henry, officers were advised that he was hiding in an apartment near where he was last seen.
At approximately 1:07 a.m., Henry was located inside the apartment and taken into custody after a brief struggle.
Henry was charged with robbery in the third degree, a class D felony; criminal contempt in the first degree, a class E felony; obstruction of governmental administration in the second degree, a class A misdemeanor; and resisting arrest, a class A misdemeanor.
Henry was processed and taken to Steuben County Jail for CAP arraignment, where he remains held.
The incident occurred less than 24 hours after Henry was released from Steuben County CAP Court following a previous violation of the same order of protection that involved a foot pursuit with law enforcement.
The Village of Bath Police Department was assisted by the Steuben County Sheriff’s Office and the Steuben County 911 center.
