Pickup truck crashes in New Vineyard

NEW VINEYARD, ME — A medical issue caused a pickup truck to leave the roadway and roll over on Lake Street on March 13, 2026.

Franklin County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to the single-vehicle crash at approximately 1:51 p.m.

Deputy Morgan and Sgt. Clement determined that Donald Tyler, 49, of Anson, was operating a 2022 Chevrolet pickup truck owned by Mainely Trees of Strong, traveling eastbound on Lake Street.

Due to an apparent medical issue, the vehicle left the roadway on the left side, struck a tree, and then rolled down an embankment into a driveway, where it struck a tow behind trailer.

Tyler and his passenger, Colby Thayer, 24, of New Vineyard, were not wearing seatbelts at the time of the crash.

Tyler was transported to MaineHealth Franklin Hospital in Farmington for evaluation.

Thayer was not injured.

The New Vineyard Fire Department and Maine EMS also responded and assisted at the scene.
