MALTA, NY — A 29-year-old man was arrested Friday on a felony assault charge following an incident at a local motel earlier this week.
Justin M. Nielsen, of Malta, was charged with assault in the second degree, a class D felony.
The Saratoga County Sheriff’s Office responded to an assault call at the Budget Inn at 2:31 a.m. Wednesday.
Nielsen is accused of intentionally causing physical injury to a person who was 65 years old or more while he was more than 10 years younger than the victim.
He is accused of punching the victim in the face.
Nielsen was arraigned before the Honorable Ellwood A. Sloat Jr. in Malta Town Court and released on his own recognizance pending further proceedings.
